Last Updated Feb 1st 2005
We have released the recent changes to the Main MFP3D Xop, so now you can download the latest software versions (contact support@rasy.com for details).  This comes with the argyle.xop, as well as a number of changes to the code.
Here is a list of some of the highlights:
*Continuous triggered force curves are now truly continuous.
*Continuous triggered force curves also adjust the start position for you, so that it starts Force distance above the trigger point each time.
Non - synched force curve velocity is finally here!
Argyle now has a colorbar!
triggered with dwell.

DO NOT USE IGOR 5.04b1.  This beta release is not compatable with the MFP3D software.
Igor 5.04b2 is working just fine with the MFP3D code.

Last Updated Nov 15th 2004
We are now running on Igor 5. Important version numbers:
040811, Last version to run on Igor 4.09.  This version can also run on Igor 5.02.
041014, Our best version that can run on Igor >= 5.02
041026, This version requires Igor 5.03b7 or better.  Has MFP3D Xop 23 Pre, which has a few problems, that we are working on.  We are working on getting triggered with dwell fleshed out.
041112, This version comes with ArGyLe.xop.  Argyle allows you to render your image data in 3 dimensions as a surface.  It is still an alpha release, so we are not mass releasing it.  If you want to help test it out, contact Support@AsylumResearch.com

Version Windows Explorer Thumbnail viewer
Last Updated May 3rd 2004.
We have a new component to the MFP3D software.  This is for windows and does not require Igor at all.  It uses the windows explorer thumbnail view to display image IBW files all within windows explorer.  This only works for images saved with the MFP3D software (standard Igor waves are not affected), and only displays the first data channel (typically Height).  Additionally, if you have force plots saved with this months version or better, you will be able to see the Force curves (again first channel, usually deflection) in the windows explorer thumbnail.  This will eventually get wrapped into the standard MFP3D installers, but for now we have a stand alone installer that you can download from http://www.rasy.com/Files/MFP3DWET.zip.

Last Updated February 2004.
Has XOP 21 up 4.
Requires Igor 4.08, but should really have 4.09.
Force Maveric is a flexible (user un-friendly) interface to break Force Plots into Drive and FeedBack events.
Big scans are back, any scan above 800 lines is raster scanned.

Fly fishing is coming to a 3D near you.

Now when the controller is reset it checks the available calibration parameters against the software values. If there are any differences it will bring up a panel telling you where the problems are.

Working on a Scan engine to make our and your lives easier for writing scanning code.

Version 031216
V031216
December 2003.
Has XOP 21 up 3.
Requires Igor 4.08, but should really have 4.09.
Fixed up UserIn channels in the force review.
Fixed up the MFP3D Force Spot Panel, maintains the image's aspect ratio. Also takes into account the image's ScanAngle.
You can now change the amplitude setpoint as well as the voltage going to the tip when doing lithography.
Roughness can now calculate the surface area of an image by means of the QTM.
ORTHO IS BACK!
This version does not raster scan, scan lines are orthogonal to the slow scan axis.
Added estimated time to the Lithography Panel.
Added tip location spot for the force panel to see where the tip location is.
You can auto offset the X axis on the Force Plots (See Auto Offset Raw).
Fixed the FFT Graph, so that the Color for the FFT image is in log scale
Also if you use Igor's Marquee expand / shrink on the FFT graph, it will NOT change the axes that you did NOT click in.
Also added Auto offsets to the Y axis on the Force plots (See Auto Offset Y).
You can export your Displayed Force curves to a scatter plot (quick & dirty way of wave averages). Quick and dirty from the point of view of writing code... (See Export Display To Scatter)

Version 031031
V1031
The Halloween version, 2003
Has Xop 21 or XOP 20.
You can now ZoomZoom the realtime images from offline images.
You can now take smaller images, down to 32 x 16 pixels.
Added FFT Panel.
Added ability to change the background color of SetVars and Titleboxes on the Masterpanel from the setup.
MFP3D Force Spot Panel.
Wrote help file for the MFP3D Force Channel Panel.
Wrote help file for the MFP3D CrossPoint Panel.
(don't get too excited, it is pretty rough, but at least it has the XPT Schematic)
Realtime Colormaps.
Finished up more force analysis types.
The force analysis now updates with modifications / undos / redos.
Added controls to ForcePanel to limit how many continuous pulls are done.
Changed the Force Analyze Panel to Force WLC panel and made a new MFP3D Force Analyze Panel.
You can now right click on the tune graph to set the MaxAmplitudeVolts. This parameter is used by the Force Review software to calculate the Dissipation. This variable is cleared whenever you do a new tune.
Added / Updated help for the Master Panel (see MFP3D Master Panel)
The Force review software will update with single pulls. This is only done if you have the force Display Panel open, and you are displaying the last force plot. Well actually it is if the Force plot you just saved after a single pull (or single trigger) is the Next listed force plot after the one selected.
Added controls on the Force Review Graph to make a copy of the graph (see MFP3D Force Review Graph).
Added the Worm-like Chain model to the Force Review (MFP3D Force Analyze Panel)
Added X and Y offset to Force review data (right click on the graphs)
Added some simple 1D file import functions. You can now open up a force plot by double clicking it from the operating system. This is the same type of thing as was done for Images in version 030718a. In this version we had to take over all Igor wave loading (when done from the OS), so for waves that are NOT images or force curves, we try to recreate Igor behavior.
Added Short cut Keys to perform common tasks.
Added menu to download the pdf software manual from our FTP site (see the help -> MFP3D Help Files menu).
MFP3D Force Modify panel now has save buttons.
MFP3D Force Cursor panel has been started.
Added the Window Manager. A little panel to help find the various Graphs, Panels, Tables etc that you have up (hit Ctrl + 1).

Version 030917
V917
August 2003
This version requires Igor 4.08 or better.
Calculates the drift between images (hidden controls).
Force review undo and restore added.
MFP3D Getting started help file.
There is also a pdf of the all the MFP3D help files that you can download from the FTP site.
More work on the force review. There is now a Force Parm Panel.
Fixed the tip lift during big offsets for non-contact.
Added Q control, setup the Tune Panel to use it.
Now if you do an offset > 1/3 of the scan size the tip will be lifted off the surface during the offset.
Help files for Offline force panels.
Help for writing realtime force code
Help for writing Offline force code
Force Review overhaul
The old was scraped and the new built up from scratch, so I won't bother listing all the things different.
Highlights:
Separation as axes option
can display only one section of the force curve (i.e. retrace)

You can load MFP3D Images directly by double clicking on them from the OS. Igor has to be associated with the ibw extension, and igor has to be running the AR software. The image also has to be > 128 scan points (so that it will contain a browse footer). There seems to be a problem with selecting multiple files at once, so for now, just one at a time.
Sections update with modifications.
Reduced the number of points in the section profile during editing, to make it more manageable.
Added Directional arrows for the litho sections.
Added a few more buttons to the MFP3D List Panel.
Major overhaul of the Section Panel. The Full and Use angle Checkboxes now update the section immediately. You can have sections on multiple offline images and they will still be there when you go back to that image. There is no more "set" button on the sections, the angle setvar will update the Section when you enter a new value.
You can have freehand sections (see profile mode)
The cursors on the section can be linked to the cursors on the image line.
ZoomOffset has been removed, you can now simply right click on the image and do an offset.

Version r2
Vr2
July 15, 2003
Official Released version
Requires Igor 4.07
Added help for MFP3D Browse Panel.
Major bug hunting went on here.
Force Curves now save Scanner and Head temperature and all waves saved to memory get the note.
Simple Engage will now start the meter for you if it is not already running.
Changing the scan angle does not change the Save Status to next if it does not alter the Scan Size.
The note saved to an image uses the Old master variables wave, which has the parameters when the scan was started. You need to use the log section of the wave note to figure out what parameters were begin used at the end of the scan.
There is now a betaThermal Cross Point Switch (for thermals on a beta head).
The fit for the thermal is now put on the graph when the graph is made if the checkbox had been selected previously.
You can now have both the fit on the Tune graph and the Thermal Graph update when the parameters for the SHO change.
Doing a Scan, Force pull, or Cantilever tune will stop thermals if they are running. Before bad things would happen to the controller and it would have to be reset.
You can now browse saved Images that have < 128 Scan Points.
Added a little help for the 1 Screen people. When you start up the template it will bring the "lost" panels / graphs up front for you, so you don't have to click on Windows -> Control -> Retrieve All Windows
ZoomOffset now uses the old value of the ScanAngle, the one that was uses to collect the image, which may or may not be the value in the controls.
Changed the Text rotation on Gizmo. Now uses Euler angles. Also switched the view angle setvars (the second was swapped with the third), and changed the titles.
You can now do lithography and force curves on specific points on rotated images. Who knew? Changes to the Force Channel panel.
Added Help for MFP3D Thermal Panel.
Scanning, tune, Force and thermals should all keep your data folder where they were.
Bad thermal fits no long enter Inf as the spring constant.
MFP3D Master Litho Panel Help.
Disabled all the broken help buttons, so if the button is live, feel free to click on it for help.
The Litho Red Dot of Position is always the top displayed wave. (i.e you won't loose it below the blue groups).
Updated Help for MFP3D Channel Panel.
Sections now know units.
Renamed the LithoVoltage graph when switching litho modes to reduce confusion.

Version 030601
V0601
June 2003
Lithography Group panel now has a setup.
Lithography Step panel now has setup.
Tabed MasterLithoPanel, which contains LithoPanel, LithoGroupPanel, and LithoStepPanel.
Mask Panel now knows units
Beta heads have started to catch up with new code for collecting different channels.
Entering 0 in a setvar now displays the correct units (i.e. nm)
Real Time Cursor Panel.
RealTime Image Activate hook sets MasterChannelPanel Tab.
GDS Litho Loading got cleaned up, now has a constant point density within a given group. Most complicated GDS file on hand was kept to within a factor of 2 deviation within a single group (most are < 1.25).
Startings of MFP3D Analyze panel help.
Reworked the histogram panel.
The Analyze Panel is now detachable.
Cleaned up the excess image waves on Rename, SaveAs, Kill actions, as well as load from disks.
Image filters finally use the masks.
Mod Panel is completely detachable, you can have any of the 6 tabs up in their own panel.
Added undo and restore to the history panel.
Added Help file for MFP3D Common help.
Grid lithography with a wave that sets contact time and setpoint for each point.
Added History Panel.
Added colorbar units for Input Channels
Added a titlebox to the modify panels to let us know what image is going to be worked on (which Image).
MFP3D Modification Panel is globalized, you can perform the same modification on multiple Images. FixScale works for offline. Revamp of the undo - modifications to trim memory usage.
You can now restore a layer all the way back to the original. Start of show note. More fancy offline additions, poke around in there.
Revamp of the off line software. Double clicking on browse images now works. Tabbed layer picking for images. Force curves channels can now be selected.
Lithography can import simple GDS II files.
You can extract a single layer from an image (command popup), and then insert it again as a modified layer.
Histogram Tab added to the analysis panel.
Sections can have the angles set now.
Added a new filter to convert the image to angles.
Litho voltage mode is hooked up again. It uses AC or DC according to what the overall mode is set to.
Any changes during a scan are now put into the note for that image.
No more negative frequencies during cantilever tune. Mega is now supported in the units.
There is now status information on the crosspoint panel.
Both force and litho are now crosspoint aware. The sum is not updated during tunes except between sweeps.
This version automatically adjusts the XPT switch for other channels for the meter and scanning.
READ THIS
The scaling has changed for amplitude voltage. It is now the actual voltage instead of some scaled number. It is 1/4 the voltage it used to be. If you were used to running with a setpoint amplitude of 4V, you should now run 1V. Deflection is unchanged.

Version 030218
V0218
February 2003
You can look at ZSensor in offline images. You can add a color bar to offline images.
Xop 20. Enjoy the speed and button response during Thermal.
Browse images are now saved correctly with non equal points and line sizes. All of the realtime flatten choices should work correctly (frame is still just the same as line though). There is SetScale now available from the zoom box on real time graphs. It does the same thing as fix scale on the channel panel but only uses the area in the box.
Thermal PSDs are now averaged in power space instead of linear. Also the collection of the next set of time data is started before the crunching of the last set is finished.
Added an image import to lithography.
Added Seconds parameter to notes for multiple image time logging.
You can now apply the real time offset or flatten to the scope traces by unclicking the auto button at the scope trace.
The hamster during pulls changes toggles between start and distance with switch up and does a single pull on switch down.
The hamster switches its focus when you change tabs on the Master panel. The scope trace still always autoscales.
This has new meter and crosspoint functions so it will work with the production head. The production head needs to be plugged into the controller when the experiment starts up. This software will not work for opening old experiments and running in real time. Opening old experiments for offline use should be okay.
You can now capture and save height and deflection data during lithography. You can also drive the lithography setpoint with a wave.
The capture frequency and dwell now work in force curves.

Version 1.0r1
V1.0r1
October 2002
An officially released version.

Added limits on the SHO fitting width so it would work in fluid.
All channels should now really work. You can scan up to 4096 points, but only 512 are displayed so the program is not bogged down.
There is now just one Base Name for both images and force curves.
Turning the meter off while scanning no longer stops the display from updating (nobody noticed this anyway).
The scope traces are now on the same graph as the image
Now with Gizmo! There is a make your own filter panel on the modify panel. There is a guess the SHO fit on thermal PSDs.
You can now add thermal PSDs and fits to the cantilever tune graph for comparison.
There is now an Update Old Experiment item in the MFP Controls menu that lets you update an old experiment so it will still run. Starting with this version this will happen automatically, but with older versions you must run this function Manually.

Version 020828
V0828
August 2002
Added Make Color Table to the MFP IP menu.
This has the build 13 Xop. Scanner clicking should stop. You can add the thermal PSD to the cantilever tune. You can also bring up the thermal PSD without running it.
Indicator for scan line. Cantilever tunes five times faster! Menu item under programming to load test. Changes in the way that force curves are saved so that force review will actually work. LVDT is now the name for the Fitted LVDT, formerly known as ZPosition. What used to be called LVDT is now known as RawLVDT.
There is a checkbox on the main panel that is hidden by default that makes the XY LVDT waves while scanning. After you start scanning you can run the XY gains panel macro. The panels now have a smaller font so they look roomier.
Thermal should now have a correct PSD scaling.
Fast thermal calculations with SHO fitting
This has a new way of dealing with the real time image update. Autotune is now functional. There is a InvOLS calibrator. The hamster doesn't work. User procedures now have an init function. The calculate masks can now exclude both high and low areas. Groups have been added to lithography.

Version 020426
V0426
April 2002
This is the first installer that has the xop for the production controller.
The basic force review software is now in place.
added atomic scale and open loop user procedures
added litho and force curves at chosen spots
changed the way that user procedures are loaded
hamster now does things
when doing constant force curves if change a parameter the scan now changes
hitting invert mask now does it
added mask making panel
added erase lines
there is a panel for adjusting the low level filters
added a ramp to pulling
The gains for the fast ADC is now available. Changing it also changes the gains and the amplitude setpoint.
XY gains panel now reads the log of the gain. Secret gain is now 1/2 of what is was before, and there is no high level compensation.
Xop had gains changed by factor of 8. High level software changed by same factor. Odds are high that the high level was changed in the right direction.

Version 020129
V 0129
January 2002
First documented version. ZoomZoom now works with Scan Angles other than 0.
ZoomOffset has been added.
There is now help, but just for the Main Panel.
The amplitude during NonContact has been boosted by 20dB.
The gains have been changed to deal with the boost, they should be in the range of .2 to 10. Unless I went the wrong way, in which case they will be from .001 to 100.
